This project consisted of a full external redecoration of a private property in Notting Hill. During the month regeneration project we updated all window trims, masonry, roof tiles and guttering.
At an eight storey, 1960’s built apartment block in Bromley, exposed conditions had left the original asphalt balconies in poor condition. With evidence of cracking and blistering allowing water to penetrate the structure, a high performance refurbishment solution was required.
For a long lasting finish that could be easily cleaned by the residents, the licensed contractor Roofing And Construction Ltd installed 300m2 of the cold-applied Pro-BW Flex system from Proteus Waterproofing. The new system offered a fast application for client Phoenix Housing, whilst meeting the residents’ demand for minimal disruption as access to each balcony is through flats.

Pro-BW Flex ensured minimal disruption and inconvenience thanks to the fast curing system allowing foot traffic within 2 hours of installation. The use of Pro-BW Flex also reduced the risk of further water ingress whilst works were undertaken and ensured access to the balconies was reinstated quickly and efficiently.

As it is cold installed, Pro-BW Flex meets health and safety criteria by minimising risk to site operatives and local residents. Pro-BW Flex also offers a low odour application to provide the safest and most convenient solution on site for the licensed contractor.

We were requested to attend the 42 Billington Road due to leaks to the roof.Upon our investigation, we found that there was a lack of ventilation in the loft space so this had caused the existing timber decking to sweat and to rot away.
THE CHALLENGES IN THE DESIGN
Due to the extent of the works a temporary roof was required to avoid any water ingress during the works and to assist in completing the work on time.
One side of the roof was a manmade slate which we replaced and ventilated at the fascia, with a vented dry ridge system where the slate roof met the lead roof.
Not only did the roof look aesthetically pleasing, it solved the issue of lack of ventilation which caused the roof to sweat and to rot.
Gehry Partners, one of the world’s most innovative architectural practices, has designed homes; commercial space and children’s play area for Prospect Place, which forms part of the new High Street at Battersea Power Station. The distinctive buildings will form the eastern side of the new High Street that runs from the historic Power Station building down to the new Zone 1 underground station served by the Northern Line. Prospect Place will be Gehry’s first residential project in the UK.

THE FINAL LANDSCAPE DESIGN
Anchored by the distinctive ‘Flower’ building, the design is reminiscent of the billowing sails of ships. The undulations of the façades accommodate unique spaces of extraordinary quality within, with no two homes the same.
The LA interior is all about adventure, excitement and breaking out of the ordinary design concepts. Buyers, for the first time, will be able to see features such as the distinctive rough sawn oak-fronted kitchen cabinets with open display shelves. The use of wood has been integral to the concept from the beginning of the design process, a decision that is reflected throughout the apartment. The London palette is inspired by the global city itself and includes features such as chevron flooring and metallic kitchens.
